Come Celebrate “The Splendid Magic of Penny Arcade: The 11 1/2 Anniversary Edition” a freshly minted volume published by Del Rey (an imprint of Random House). At more than 170 pages, this veritable tome will serve as the perfect entry point into the world of Penny-Arcade as well as a lovely companion piece to their previously collected works. Thrill to “savory trivia, strange facts, formerly mysterious origins, biographical information, interviews, inaugural conventions, an unlikely charity, and comic strips.” Most importantly, this book is an impetus for a book tour: finally an opportunity for Angelenos to meet the men behind Tycho Brahe and Jonathan “Gabe” Gabriel (pictured above) in the flesh. And you should, they’re very nice people.

So Friday: run, don’t walk to Meltdown and experience the power and the glory that is Penny-Arcade!

New Year, New Truck, New Exciting News!

TastyMeat! is very proud to announce that we are moving our operations, and joining the fine, fine folks over at Roadstoves!

With this move, we are not only switching our base of operations, but have acquired a new TastyTruck! to serve our fans and followers from. We were hoping to be back on the road this week, but have postponed our reopening until the weather clears. With any luck, you will have our tasty meat in your mouths by Monday of next week.

This move opens a new chapter in the TastyMeat! saga, and we couldn’t be happier with the way things have worked out. We look forward to being part of the Roadstoves family, and are excited to be back on the road!!

“What is, ‘The first thing I learned in beta testing’ for $500, Alex”

Not that it hasn’t so much been great, it’s just that I imagine there are 50 other weeks in any given year more suited to the task. What can you do?? I am certainly not one to argue with the Universe its infinite mystery….

We are still in beta through the end of next week, so thanks in advance for baring through any hiccups in service. The intricate strings of a 22-year old catering truck are many and delicate, and the only way we can learn how to play them is to jump in and get greasy.

Seriously, thanks for everyone’s support and positive feedback.

Just in time for the Holidays, the TastyMeat! Truck is finally ready to bring tasty meat directly to your mouths.

As I write this, our truck is being wrapped in company colors by the outstanding professionals at Gorilla Wraps in Pasadena. The menu is locked down, and we had our product photo shoot yesterday during final kitchen test. I could probably go the next week without a single bite of food, as Thanksgiving’s got NOTHIN’ on the amount of delicious cookery that was consumed yesterday. I have been in a waking food coma for 24 hours now. If you like gyros, shawarma, or doner kebab, you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE TastyMeat!

The TastyMeat! vision is simple: Exceptionally tasty food and bang for your buck. The worst is waiting in line for 15 minutes, spending $8 on mediocre food, and walking away hungry. We strive to banish this occurrence from the TastyMeat! experience. In fact, if you have to wait in line 15 minutes for a TastyMeat! Cuban sandwich, 9 out of 10 professional doctors will testify that the sandwich you buy becomes 15x tastier than an ordinary sandwich!

IT’S PURE SCIENCE, PEOPLE – and you just can’t argue with science.

We plan to soft open by mid week, with daily lunch and dinner service, and late nights on weekends, so let us know if you have a spot in mind! Take a break from the Mall Madness, and swing by for a stress-free tasty treat!!

We seriously can’t wait for you to eat our meat!
